Strange Observations on a cricket field
Place: MAC Stadium, Chepauk
Event: Challenger Trophy Match #2 - India Blue Vs India Green
My Position: E Stand adjacent to the Bells' Road
* India Greens taking the field in Dark Red colors.
* Munaf Patel obliging a fan with his autograph on a Cricket Bat - doesn't the cricket crazy public know that Munaf isn't even remotely connected to the willow??
* A cricket tournament in India sans Sponsors.
* Sourav Ganguly attracting thunderous applause from the 10000+ crowd; second only to Sachin Tendulkar.
* Radio Mirchi entertaining the crowd in the second half, with soundtracks from two different Police Stories viz., Kaaka Kaaka and Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu; as much as Sachin did in the first half.
* Getting the "Is this match worth 200 bucks" feeling while watching the Greens fall like nine pins.

ha... ha... thats indian cricket.. i still don't know why you still passionately follow this kind of cricket and cricketers... let us focus our attention on some other sports.. let us help india produce true athletes...
@Balaji: True, Indian Cricket isnt having the best of times. But, the problem about not following any other sport is purely LACK of OPTIONS. Hockey, the National Game has become a National Shame and Indian Football, inspite of a new foreign coach, has got the stick in recent times. Though Sania has put India on the WTA map, her recent performances indicate that she lacks the consistency required to stay at the top. Anju Bobby George, Jyoti Randhawa, Joshna Chinnapa and others have shown flashes of brilliance.
But I must accept, Pankaj Advani, RVS Rathore and Vishy Anand have well and truely proved to be mighty in their respective sports. Maybe one day, some Budhia would make India proud on the world Athletics stage. Until then, we have to satiate our hunger by watching Cricket, even if dour or otherwise.
