Now , i guess Gandhi wasnt good in Logic ...
After all , he wrote pacifist letters to Hitler ...
assuming that this post was for the hanging of saddam, i ve this to say:
one, we are living in times where debating the ethical issues underlying capital punishment is futile. because the people in power will bring about the death of their nemesis one way or the other. what would say if saddam was killed in action during the war? the question now is more about HOW it should be done. and even there, the US screwed up big time by not doing something it could easily have done- hold the trail in a neutral country (may be in geneva) which would have led to the same outcome anyway.
two, about deaf ears home and abroad... well, i have been thinking as to why exactly people should be fanatical just about anything knowing well what mankind has gone through in the last century becaus eof it. its been more than 50 years since gandhi died and what he could see then, most of us aren't able to yet. there must be some good scientific reason why people get passionate about irrationality (read 'religion'). may be it does help in short term survival if not long term.. ill be getting back on this one in more detail in my blog ("visit often" :p)
why no more posts????
